May 1 marks the beginning of Jewish Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the richness of Jewish culture, heritage, and history in Canada. In the ÌÇÐÄSwag District, we support all learners to develop a sense of connection, belonging and positive personal and cultural identity.
We are fortunate to have the second-largest Jewish community in B.C.Ìý Jewish Heritage Month provides an opportunity to celebrate and highlight Jewish communities for their valuable contributions to the growth and prosperity of ÌÇÐÄSwag. It is also a time to acknowledge Jewish excellence which has resulted in a rich cultural fabric in our community and beyond.
